Welcome!

WELCOME!

I started this blog to help myself track my fashion evolution. I have gotten a lot of inspiration from other bloggers out there, and maybe someday I can do the same for someone else.

Bright Patterns

This idea didn't execute as well in real life as it did in my head, but I gave it the good old try.  I think both patterns may have been a bit too bold to throw together.  I learn something new every day!

Spring Flowers

Last fall I actually remembered to plant spring bulbs.  It's the first time I have remembered to do that in the seven years we've lived here.  I was so excited when my daffodils finally showed their faces!

I liked the pop of bright turquoise in this otherwise neutral outfit, but the rolled sleeves were a bit obnoxious.  I think this was not the best shirt to try it with.

Found!

I just found a bunch of old photos on my SD card.  I think they are from January, so I'm just going to post them all now so they don't drag out into spring clothing territory.

Blues

Today you get a lovely view of my filthy back porch.  Sorry!  I like the pop of turquoise with my accessories.  The outfit would have been quite dull without them.  This shirt is really comfortable to wear, but hard to style creatively.  I'm sure I will come up with something crazier if I think hard enough.

Bright & Fancy

I had a meeting with a client that seems to be impressed by fancy clothes, so I wore my fancy jacket.  You can't really tell from this photo, but it has metallic silver threads throughout. It also has a single epaulette made of chains that also include a couple of sparkly chains.  I couldn't let the outfit get too boring though, so I had to throw in some color.  I think my shoes were more appreciated than anything else!

Trying for Color

I really like the purple and turquoise together, but the scarf doesn't seem to go.  It does have a bit of black in the pattern but from far off you can't tell and it just doesn't seem to blend in.

Pop of Turquoise

I got lots of compliments on my shoes today, and comments about how well they coordinated with my necklace.  Having a little pop of color adds a bit of fun to an otherwise boring outfit.

I've been having a hard time working this lace tank top into my wardrobe.  I've been considering cutting it up the middle of the front and turning it into a vest.  I guess we'll see if I can make it work.

Out the Door

I love sweater season.  The main reason?  You can throw one on in a hurry when you're running late, and you still look polished.  This is the first time I pulled out a sweater this fall - short sleeves since it was still a little warm during the day.

First Up? An Appology.

Why?  Because the outfit photos I have been taking for a while looked just fine on the three inch camera screen, but blown up on the computer?  Not so much.  Many are very blurry, but it's too late to do anything about it now.  Oh well, you live and you learn, right?  I promise to improve in the future.

I decided to start a fashion blog because I have found so many great ideas from other fashion bloggers.  If you follow my links button on the rights, you will find a list of all my favorite fashion blogs, though there are many other great ones out there.  Also, I have heard mentioned many times that looking back at your prior outfits can really help you figure out what shapes and colors complement you.  I have also heard that it takes a while to get good at posing, so it may take me a little while to get into the swing of things.  I am hoping to learn a lot from this experience.

This is me!  I tried to pick a pretty clear one for my first photo so you can actually see my face.  Most of the outfits I will be posting is what I wear to work.  Since I look nicer all week, I don't often dress up on the weekends.  I'm more of a t-shirt and jeans kind of gal when I get to relax.

I love bright colors, so I was pretty happy with the way this outfit turned out. Just enough to create interest, but without being garish.
