Who's that? Here, kitty kitty!
This is a neighbor cat. We dubbed him Garden Cat last summer because he was in our front flower beds quite often. He's gotten a bit chunkier since I saw him last.
I found this cardigan at the thrift store and could pass up a good basic. It was originally from Target. It looked really red inside, but outside it's more of a melon. I like it either way! Also, new shoes! They are just cheapies, but the red & white stripes were too cute, and I've wanted a pair of deck shoes for a while.

Welcome!
WELCOME!
I started this blog to help myself track my fashion evolution. I have gotten a lot of inspiration from other bloggers out there, and maybe someday I can do the same for someone else.

A Blazer!
I have two blazers in my closet. I bought them to match my work pants a few years ago, but haven't gotten much wear out of them. Now they are a little tight across the shoulders so they get a bit irritating after wearing one all day. I really need to find a couple more at a thrift store because they look so cute!

Not Floral Enough
I actually wore this on EBEW's floral day. The scarf has a bit of floral on it, but not enough that I thought I should put it up. I kinda forgot to plan for it - one of these days I will actually participate!

Spring Flowers
My tulips are almost dead for the year now, but they were just coming out when I took this picture. My bleeding hearts are especially vibrant and healthy this year. I guess all this rain was good for something!
I'm thinking about trying to alter these pants into skinnies or crops. The flare part of the leg just sits really weird. I think I will practice my skills on something a bit less daunting though - the side seams on these scare me.

Let the Light In
I really loved the week of sunshine we got. I wore this on Cinco de Mayo (yes, I am a bit behind in posting) and the bright happy colors were perfect. And yes, I am going to wear my nude heels to death. I can't help that they look good with everything.

Spring Leopard
This skirt is really soft, but doesn't leave much to the imagination. Add this slightly clingy shirt, and you can really see my little tummy bump. Makes me feel like I should have worn my body shaper, but sometimes I like to be able to breath all day. Oh, well!

A Shirtdress and Bright Legs
I've loved this dress since the moment I tried it on. It was a dress someone had returned so it was the last one in the store and on super clearance, plus it was my size! I love it when things like that happen. It's like it was meant to be. Only problem now is that it seems to be shrinking, but don't blame the dress. I really need to get out and exercise. *blush*

Bits of Pink
I bought this necklace because I liked it a lot, but it's been more of a challenge than I thought it would be to find outfits to wear it with. This was an easy match.

Found!
I just found a bunch of old photos on my SD card. I think they are from January, so I'm just going to post them all now so they don't drag out into spring clothing territory.

Ride the Dragon
This post title won't make any sense until you scroll down. One of my neighbors has this cheesy dragon statue in their yard (or maybe it's the Loch Ness monster? I don't know...) I've been contemplating getting a photo with it for a while and finally worked up the nerve to do it. I got some mighty strange looks from people driving by...
Onto the clothes! I liked the combination of the bright colors and different patterns I had going on today. Any time I mix patterns I have to have something plain in between. Maybe one of these days I'll graduate to pattern on pattern, but I'm taking baby steps here.

Pink & Ruffley
One thing I've noticed when I get compliments on my outfits from people that I work with is that it's usually followed by, "But you can get away with it because you're still young. I would look ridiculous." I hope I can always keep having fun with my clothes no matter how old I get. Otherwise, getting dressed gets boring. That's why I started this blog to begin with! I know it can be done because many of my blogger inspirations are as old as the people giving me those types of comments, and they still look fun and fabulous!

Romantic
I bought this lace top online several months ago, and it looks much more peachy than in did in the pictures. That wasn't really a killer, but it is much harder to find colors it goes with that plain old nude would have been. This is my favorite way I have worn it so far. The shirts just seem perfect together. I just wish I had a floaty white skirt to go with it. And some nude heels (or sandals if it was warmer) would help too. Guess I have some things to add to my thrift store list.
These horses belong to our backyard neighbors. They always run over to say hello when we are in the park next door in hopes that we will reach the yummy long green grass for them. I'll have to remember to take some carrots over next time.

Bright & Fancy
I had a meeting with a client that seems to be impressed by fancy clothes, so I wore my fancy jacket. You can't really tell from this photo, but it has metallic silver threads throughout. It also has a single epaulette made of chains that also include a couple of sparkly chains. I couldn't let the outfit get too boring though, so I had to throw in some color. I think my shoes were more appreciated than anything else!

Kids These Days
I almost feel like this outfit walked out of a Hot Topic, but not quite that punk/goth/emo-y. It reminds me of the fact that I really want to dye my hair crazy colors but can't because I have a real adult job. Blah. At least I can have some fun with clothes.

Day in SLC
A few weeks ago I was looking around the internet trying to find cheap things to do, and I discovered that the Utah Museum of Fine Arts has a free day every third Saturday. Last week was the day, so hubby and I trekked down to Salt Lake. We aren't usually museum type people, but it was still fun.
This guy was my favorite in the whole place:
Outside with my coat, and a bit of plaid overload:
My wonderful, handsome hubby who takes most of my pictures for me:
After the museum we drove around the Avenues, an area of SLC with lots of fancy old houses. We just haven't spend much time there, and I love looking at old houses. Then we went down to Gateway (fancy outdoor mall) and ate dinner at Z'Tejas. I had shredded beef rellenos and their signature mojitos and they were delish. Then we had an hour or so to kill at the mall, where I wandered around stores like Anthropologie, Forever 21, and Urban Outfitters that we don't have up north where I live. I didn't find anything to buy though.
Finally it was time to go to our concert - the other reason we were in SLC that day. We finally got to see Lady Gaga! I bought tickets ten months ago and it has taken forever to get here. Before the show I adjusted my outfit a bit, but I forgot to get a picture. I tucked my shirt into my skirt, and hiked my skirt up to where my belt was to show off a bit more leg. I didn't feel too crazy since there were girls wearing just tights and a leotard.
Scissor Sisters opened and they are an awesome band I discovered a year or so ago. They played my favorite song, Any Which Way, which was so much fun. Then we had to wait an hour for Lady Gaga to come on, which was irritating, but at least she put on a good show once it finally started. I am a big fan of it actually being a show, not just a concert. I was also impressed with the message she tried to put across: believe in yourself, love yourself, and accept other for who they are too.

Day 29
Both this shirt and skirt had only been used twice so far, so I decided to get one more wearing out of them. I thought it was weird that I hadn't worn the shirt much because it is one of my favorites!
Sorry for the less-than-stellar photo today. I had an appointment to get my hair cut right after work, and got home after the sun was gone. My hair just keeps getting shorter for some reason - hubby mentioned it when I got home. BUT it should be really easy to do, and nice and cool for summer, and in winter, well... that's what scarves are for, right?

Day 27
I'm going to be honest here - I put this outfit on for pictures, then immediately took off my shoes and belt so I could lounge the rest of the day. I didn't even get into the shower until 3:00. Just having a lazy Sunday I guess.
I decided to forgo the jeans today because I've only worn this skirt once during the challenge, and it's hard to style for work without it looking a bit too snug to be appropriate. I mostly included it in my 30 so that I could wear it on Valentine's Day for my hubby. (I also apparently need to realize that Valentine's Day is now over and I really should put away my decorations.) I really like the mix of light pink and olive-y green for some reason, so I'm glad I found a way to put them together.

Day 26
This is the last weekend during the 30 for 30, so I made sure to wear the stuff I can't wear to work. Nikes and robot tee today, with jeans certain to appear tomorrow. I have been keeping track of everything I wore, and I just did a tally today. There are still a few things that have only been worn once or twice, so I'm going to work on using them to their full potential before the challenge is over.
