Welcome!

WELCOME!

I started this blog to help myself track my fashion evolution. I have gotten a lot of inspiration from other bloggers out there, and maybe someday I can do the same for someone else.

Day 28

Last day in February - only two more days to go!  Today was a good day at work - enough to keep me busy all day, but not stressful busy.  Hopefully it is a good sign for the rest of the week, because I just want to forget that last week ever happened.  I'm excited for tomorrow because it's haircut day!  I'm wondering if my awesome stylist can make my hair as cute as Emerald's.  What do you think?

Day 27

I'm going to be honest here - I put this outfit on for pictures, then immediately took off my shoes and belt so I could lounge the rest of the day.  I didn't even get into the shower until 3:00.  Just having a lazy Sunday I guess.

I decided to forgo the jeans today because I've only worn this skirt once during the challenge, and it's hard to style for work without it looking a bit too snug to be appropriate.  I mostly included it in my 30 so that I could wear it on Valentine's Day for my hubby.  (I also apparently need to realize that Valentine's Day is now over and I really should put away my decorations.)  I really like the mix of light pink and olive-y green for some reason, so I'm glad I found a way to put them together.

Day 26

This is the last weekend during the 30 for 30, so I made sure to wear the stuff I can't wear to work.  Nikes and robot tee today, with jeans certain to appear tomorrow.  I have been keeping track of everything I wore, and I just did a tally today.  There are still a few things that have only been worn once or twice, so I'm going to work on using them to their full potential before the challenge is over.

Day 25

Simple, easy black and white today.  And stumpy legs, apparently.  Hubby took this picture at an odd angle, and it shows.   Oh, well.

Doing this every day without fail is really wearing on me.  I'm running out of things to say.  Though today I will mention that I am very glad the weekend is here.  It has not been a great week for me, and a lot of other people I know and work with.  Next week will be better!

Day 24

I'd been wanting to try a tunic over a skirt for a while now, and today was the day.  I think it worked out great!  The sweater vest as an under layer did make me pretty hot all day though.  And my favorite part is actually the tiny stripe of red sock you can see.

Day 23

Today my mom sent me an email telling me that she found $4 tights at a local discount store in various animal prints and crazy plaids.  I am now counting down the days until the end of the challenge so I can go get some.

I was running late this morning so I ended up skipping makeup and not wearing tights.  I really could have used some tights today because it was cold; too cold to walk around the corner to find a better photo location, so you get the front of my house.

Wearing scarfs long works much better with skirts and dresses than it does with pants.  I really liked today, even though the colors are rather neutral.  White and denim just feels classic.  I am really regretting not including heels in my 30, though.  I want my red heels with this outfit!

Day 22

I was feeling distinctly uninspired this morning.  I kinda just threw some clothes on.  I hope this is not foreshadowing the rest of the challenge.  It turned out okay, but the denim jacket was really hot this afternoon.

That's Hobbs begging me to open the door so he can escape.  I think he'd change his mind if he knew how much snow was out there.

Day 21

Today the snow melted a bit.  Hooray!  I had fun with poses today, but I apparently moved too much because they were mostly blurry.  At least this one's cute!

Day 20

The weatherman lied.  3-4 inches of snow turned into 8-9 inches of snow.  It is really pretty, but also makes it hard to pose for pictures without falling on your face.

I wasn't sure about this color combo, so I decided to try it out on a Sunday when no one would really see me.  I ended up liking it a lot!  Especially after I happened to pull out a patterned scarf that had the exact same colors in it.  I will eventually get rid of all my color preconceptions and rules and learn to mix with the best of them.

Day 19

I ended up having to go into work for an hour or so today.  Other than that, I accomplished nothing in the real world.  I did play video games for several hours though (Fable 2, if anyone is interested).  I was pretty dressed up for vegging on the couch.  I wanted to get a picture outside again, but it didn't stop raining all day, so inside it was. Madeline and Bullseye decided to join me for my photo shoot and they are adorable, so I guess it all worked out for the best.

Day 18

I had to stop at the grocery store on the way home from work today, so I was rushing to get home before the light was completely gone.  Hubby and I had just walked outside to go find a picture taking spot, when I noticed some movement in the neighbors pasture behind our house.  That is not unusual because they often have horses in there, but today I looked over and it was a red fox!

That's the only photo we got before it ran up halfway up the hill.  We walked up the street towards it but scared it off before we could get another shot.  We did find some cute paw prints in the snow.

Sorry for the distraction, but I thought it was very cool.  We see wildlife fairly often, but mostly boring critters like deer and raccoons.  We decided the fox must have been down hunting, so I will be extra vigilant in keeping my kitties from escaping.

Anyway, on with the outfit! (The fox stopped and sat for a bit in back there, so just pretend it's still in the picture, 'kay?) I went with lots of pink today, but the scarf has a bit of green in it, so I added green socks just for fun.  Well, and to keep my feet warm.  I like today's scarf wearing better than yesterday's.  I got it to do a cool braided-looking knot thing that I learned from Kasmira

Day 17

Today I decided to try out the belted scarf trend.  I'm not sure how it turned out.  I think maybe I don't have a good scarf for it.  This one was too long if it wasn't around my neck once, but how it is, it kept coming out of my belt.  I'll have to try something else next time.  At least it kept my outfit from being plain.

Day 16

I can't believe we are past the halfway point!  It hasn't been too difficult so far, but I'm sure the last week will strain my imagination.  I've been wanting to try the combo with this vest and shirt since the challenge started, so I'm surprised it hasn't made an appearance before now.

I needed to wear pants today because I had some furniture and equipment to move around the office.  It was also realtor home tour day at work, which generally requires taking off your shoes at least once, so I wore my quick to slip-on-and-off shoes.  The belt is new to me, but I promise I didn't buy it!  This past weekend we helped clean out hubby's grandma's house and I found several skinny belts to take home.

Day 15

Today's outfit is very similar to Saturday's outfit (Day 12).  I actually think it turned out better because the blue in this sweater goes with the blue tights more than the purpley blue and denim of the other outfit.

I managed to get clothes washed last night, but they weren't dry yet this morning.  Tomorrow I should be able to broaden my wardrobe a bit.

Day 14

I saved my pencil skirt for Valentine's Day because it is quite tight.  Any maybe a wee bit too short for work, especially without tights.  But I wore it anyway.  I only saw one other person (besides hubby) all day.  I'll play it a bit safer next time.

On another note, I've been letting my hair just air dry without any product or anything.  I think it actually looks decent, and it's much better on my hair than drying it every time.  I might have to take a straight iron to my bangs though.  This way they sit right on my forehead and get greasy much faster.

Sorry the grass swallowed my feet again...

Day 13

Today's outfit was a nice comfy weekend outfit.  Just jeans and a tee to keep it simple.  This is my favorite tee though.  It's from Threadless.  I could spend way too much money on silly shirts there for me and hubby.

We went up to hubby's sister's house for dinner tonight and stopped at a rest stop in the canyon to take pictures.  The fishermen may have thought we were crazy.

Day 12

Today we had a birthday party for my hubby and I was a bit rushed all day.  I didn't end up getting any really great shots of my outfit, but here's the best one.  I was wearing a cute necklace when the night started, but I managed to break it (though it is fixable).

Day 11

I liked today's outfit with the green shirt much better that Day #1's outfit.  It seems to work better with the black and gold.

Day 10

I'm running out of clean clothes that I am allowed to wear.  Which is weird because I can usually go several weeks without washing if I have to.  Good thing I have a fantastic hubby who loves me and does all the laundry!

Today was much warmer than the last few days.  There is bare leg in this picture!

Day 9

Today was pretty quick and easy.  I have to leave for work a bit earlier on Wednesdays than the rest of the week, so basic is best.  Always fun to add a pop of color with accessories though!

Day 8

Boy, it was WINDY today!  Of all the ways weather can make you miserable, wind is the worst.  Nothing terribly exciting today, but I like the way sequins add a bit of sparkle to an otherwise plain old outfit.

This is only the second or third time I've worn this shirt and it just realized today how horribly it was cut.  It was totally not cut straight with the grain of the cloth so the neckline on one side keeps dropping further than the other side.  I don't know how long I will be able to wear it before it drives me nuts.  That makes me sad because I like it a lot. :(  I'm going to have to learn to check these things BEFORE I leave the store.

Day 7

The weather outside was frightful, so you get another inside picture.  I know, I know, that doesn't rhyme.  Oh, well.  Today was pretty easy, but my short sleeved button-up didn't layer as well as I had hoped for.  At least I had a fun necklace to wear.

Day 6

Today's outfit has been nice and comfy for lounging around the house, which is basically all I've done today.  Melanie over at Unravelled Threads inspired me to wear flats today instead of boots.  I decided it works for me but only if I have on a longer top that covers my rear.

No football for me.  We'll probably cuddle up and watch a movie.  Plus we have leftovers for dinner, so no cooking either!

Day 5

Today I give you outside pictures; this time taken by hubby instead of a tripod + timer.  First he complains that the grass is hiding my feet.

Then in the next picture, he proceeds to almost cut them out of the frame.  What gives?

Day 4

Lucky you!  I got home while there was still light, so outside pictures it is.  Hopefully I don't look too bulky around the middle.  This skirt is long enough it almost reaches my boots, but that makes my legs look all stubby.  So, I rolled it up and belted it to the length I wanted!

I think that skirts three days in a row is a record for me.  I was really happy the way this outfit turned out. Navy and tan may not be exciting, but it looks good!

I borrowed the scarf from my mom.  She got it as a Christmas present from my grandma, who bought it on her cruise while in Egypt.  I love it!

Day 3

Every time I wear these tights I feel a bit like Big Bird, but I do like the yellow with the red.  I don't know if it's weird to belt a denim jacket, but I did it.  Without the belt it was just to shapeless and bulky for the outfit.

In other news, I am already regretting picking such boring footwear for this challenge.  Next time I will definitely remember to spice things up a bit.

I was really happy with today's outfit.  It was super fun, even if it was crazy to wear a skirt in -1 degree weather.  That's just how I roll!

Day 1

I feel military-ish on top, but not so much on bottom.  Maybe I should have gone with the black boots.  Overall, a nice easy start for the challenge.  Now to get the rest of my clothes washed so I have all 30 to choose from.  In other news, today was a bad hair day.  Good thing I had a hat to cover it up.
